Jimmy White beaten by Ryan Day on return to UK Championship

The 60-year-old made his first appearance in the final stages of the tournament in over a decade

Jimmy White’s run at the UK Championship in York ended with a 6-2 first-round defeat to Ryan Day.

White, 60, made his first appearance in the final stages of the tournament in over a decade after beating former winner Stephen Maguire and world number 57 Dominic Dale in qualifying to reach the last 32.
