Joe Ward has made history in Hamburg.
The light-heavyweight has become the first Irish boxer to secure three World Elite Championship medals.
Ward was a unanimous victor in his quarter-final with Mikhail Daugaliavets of Belarus to seal at least a bronze.
The Westmeath native is back between the ropes for his semi-final on Friday.
