After Thomas Barr came so, so close yesterday, can Team Ireland clinch a medal today? Rob Heffernan would dearly love to, as would fellow race walkers Alex Wright and Brendan Boyce.

Athletics

Rob Heffernan, Alex Wright and Brendan Boyce are all in the field for the 50k Race Walk which starts at noon.

Golf

Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow return to action in the Women's Golf tournament.

Meadow starts from one over par and tees off at 12.41pm; Maguire resumes from three under par at 1.36pm.

Pentathlon

Natalya Coyle resumes from twelfth in the Women's Modern Pentathlon and starts her combined round of more fencing, swimming, show-jumping, running and shooting at 4.15pm.
