Athlete who didn’t qualify for the Olympics breaks 100m hurdles world record

Kendra Harrison was "full of emotions" as she broke a record which stood for 28 years.

Kendra Harrison broke the 28-year-old 100 metres hurdles world record at the Olympic Stadium on Friday - just two weeks after failing to make the United States team for the Rio Olympics.

The 23-year-old stormed over the barriers to cross the line in 12.20 seconds at the Muller Anniversary Games, beating Bulgarian Yordanka Donkova's mark by one hundredth of a second.
