Murphy down to second after disappointing second race
Dublin's Annalise Murphy has lost top spot in the women's Laser Radial sailing event after her two races today at Weymouth.
The first race saw Team Ireland's Olympic hopeful back in form as she came second, just behind Chinese sailor Xu Lijia, to hold a six-point lead overall.
Xu finished first in a time of 1:03.21, with Annalise 28 seconds behind.
However, the second race of the day saw Belgium's Evi van Acker claim first, a result which also put her ahead of Murphy in the overall rankings, albeit by only a single point.
Murphy finished 10th in today’s second race, her second worst finish after her 19th-placed finish in the second race on Wednesday.
Under the rules her worst performance is discarded, so she will keep both of today's results.
Nail biting finish there!! The whole race was intense and Annalise gave it her all! Sitting 1 point off the lead... http://t.co/INa3hMJ4
