Soderling suffering with fever
World number six Robin Soderling has revealed he is suffering from glandular fever.
The 27-year-old Swede pulled out of the US Open before his first match because of illness having also struggled during the US hard-court season with a combination of a wrist injury and what he believed to be a throat infection.
Soderling said on Twitter: “It’s been a difficult period but I am getting better. Doctors confirmed that I have had mono (glandular fever) for quite some time and this truly explains my lack of energy but my health is improving and I hope to be back on the court as soon as possible.”
