Wozniacki battles through

Caroline Wozniacki had to come from behind to beat Yanina Wickmayer and progress in the Family Circle Cup in Charleston.

Number one seed Wozniacki lost the opening set 6-4 to the Belgian, who is seeded sixth, but came back to win 4-6 6-4 6-4.

Jelena Jankovic, seeded third, had a much easier time in seeing off Christina McHale 6-2 6-0.

Shuai Peng, seeded 11th, ended the run of qualifier Sania Mirza, but only after coming from behind as she won 2-6 6-2 6-2, but number 12 Julia Goerges is heading home after losing 2-6 6-2 6-2 to Elena Vesnina.
