Zvonareva stuns Wozniacki to win in Doha

Vera Zvonareva upset world number one Caroline Wozniacki to win the Qatar Ladies Open in Doha today.

The second-seeded Russian broke twice in each set to claim a 6-4 6-4 success in one hour 49 minutes.

The Dane was let down by her second serve, winning just 33% of points on it.

She still had chances to take the first set, converting just one of her four break points, as Zvonareva made both of hers count.

But in the second the Russian also started to cause real problems on Wozniacki’s first serve, carving out eight break points, the two she took enough to seal victory.
