It has been confirmed this afternoon that Galway will host the final leg of the 2011-2012 Volvo Ocean Race.

It has been confirmed this afternoon that Galway will host the final leg of the 2011-2012 Volvo Ocean Race.

It has beaten off competition from 14 other cities to host the final, which will be worth €55m to the Irish economy.
