A constant drizzle led to the suspension of yesterday afternoon’s matches and wet weather is forecast for all of today.

Britain’s Andy Murray, the fourth seed in Rome, was due to play his second round match against Juan Monaco of Argentina but that clash is likely to be postponed.

The outlook is also bleak for tomorrow and Thursday, with rain expected to continue to fall.
