Lance Armstrong has been taken to hospital after crashing out on stage one of the Castilla y Leon in Spain today, according to reports.

Armstrong looked to have sustained a shoulder injury – a possible broken collarbone – after falling around 150km into the stage, according to velonews.com.

The seven-time Tour de France winner was caught up in an incident in the peloton as several riders fell.
