French sailor rescued in yacht race

A round-the-world sailor was receiving medical treatment on board an Australian naval ship after being rescued from the Southern Ocean.

Frenchman Yann Elies spent two days adrift after breaking his leg.

Elies was taking part in the Vendee Globe yacht race. Fellow competitors diverted to offer him help.
