The board of Horse Sport Ireland is due to meet today to discuss the fallout from the doping controversy that hit the Irish team at the Beijing Olympics.

The board of Horse Sport Ireland is due to meet today to discuss the fallout from the doping controversy that hit the Irish team at the Beijing Olympics.

Denis Lynch was thrown out of the competition after his horse, Lantinus, tested positive for the banned substance capsaicin.

It emerged last night that the 'B' sample taken from the horse also tested positive.

Lynch will appear before a special FEI tribunal next month in Switzerland for a hearing into the matter.
