The Irish men’s fours rowing team has made it through to the semi-final by coming third in their quarter-final.

Sean O’Neill, Jonno Devlin, Sean Casey and Cormac Folan were rowing together competitively for the first time.

The heavyweight foursome came in with a time of 6:02.85, only around two seconds behind winners Australia who are favourites for the gold medal.

The semi-finals of the men’s fours heavyweight rowing takes place next Wednesday.
