Andy Murray has two more chances to get his clay court preparation up to speed ahead of the French Open after he slumped to a 6-4 6-4 defeat at the hands of Mario Ancic in Barcelona.

British number one Murray, who was handed a first-round bye in the Open Sabadell Atlantico, was unable to convert a series of break points – each of which could have proved vital in launching his comeback from a slow start.
