Maria Sharapova reached her first claycourt final when Lindsay Davenport withdrew from their Saturday semi-final at the Bausch and Lomb Championships.

The top-seeded Russian will be in pursuit of the third title of the year and the 19th of her career on Sunday when she faces either Alize Cornet or Dominika Cibulkova.

It was a disappointing end to a promising tournament for Davenport, who was a win away from reaching her fifth final at the event.
