Rebecca Romero won her second gold medal of the track cycling World Championships with victory in the team pursuit.

Former rowing world champion Romero, who won the individual pursuit on Thursday, added to her personal haul in partnership with Wendy Houvenaghel and Jo Rowsell.

Defeat of the Ukrainian trio in the final brought Great Britain’s gold medal tally at the championships to five.

Chris Hoy brought the team's collection of golds for the week to six with two days of racing left when he became the first Briton since Reg Harris in 1956 to win the men's sprint.

The 32-year-old Scot is also the first to win a grand slam of world titles in sprint events – the keirin, individual and team sprints and kilometre.
