Kuznetsova reaches US Open final

Svetlana Kuznetsova bounced back from a bad start to seal a 3-6 6-1 6-1 victory over fellow Russian Anna Chakvetadze and book a place in the US Open final.

The fourth seed dominated the final two sets, winning 12 of the final 13 games to advance to her second career Grand Slam final.

Kuznetsova, the first Russian woman to win this event three years ago, will face either top-ranked Justine Henin of Belgium or America’s Venus Williams tomorrow night.
