Rusedski forced to call it quits

Greg Rusedski has been forced to pull out of the final tournament of his career due to a neck and shoulder injury.

The 33-year-old former British number one announced his retirement two months ago but had already committed himself to play in the Liverpool International at Calderstones Park.

He was due to play Vince Spadea in the final game in Group B – effectively a semi-final – but was unable to play due to the problem he picked up in beating Lukas Lacko yesterday.
