TG4 to screen Wimbledon tennis

Irish language station TG4 is serving up live coverage of Wimbledon from next week as the famous tennis championship gets underway.

The 13-days of live coverage is expected to net hundreds of thousands of viewers for the station.

TG4’s head of sport, Ronan O Coisdealbha, said: “Last year’s coverage was a new departure for us and the audience and media reaction was extremely gratifying as it provided further proof that our 'suil eile' approach to sports coverage on free to air television was appreciated.”

The channel is offering 13 days of live coverage of the All-England Tennis Championships from Monday, June 26.

The station will track the Men’s and Ladies’ Championships and include live coverage of both finals on the weekend of July 8-9.
