TG4 to broadcast Tour de France

TG4 has announced that it is to cover the 93rd Tour de France cycling race.

TG4 has announced that it is to cover the 93rd Tour de France cycling race.

Coverage will begin on July 11, the second week of the race, until the traditional conclusion in Champs Élysées in Paris on Sunday, July 24.

There will be an average of three hours of live coverage each day as well as a 30-minute highlights package every night.

The race will also be webcast live on www.tg4.ie for the first time.

“We are thrilled to be showing the Tour for the second successive year,” said TG4 sports editor Rónán Ó Coisdealbha.

“Following on the success of our inaugural coverage of the Tour in 2005, we are confident that Irish viewers will continue to appreciate free to air access to the world’s most famous cycle race.”
