Baby for Rusedski

Tennis star Greg Rusedski was today celebrating the arrival of his first child.

The player’s wife Lucy gave birth to their baby daughter, who they named Scarlett Mary, early this morning.

A spokesman for the pair said: “Greg and Lucy Rusedski are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their first child Scarlett Mary, born today at 7.25am weighing 8lb 6oz.

“Mother and baby are doing well.”

The British number two, who was born in Canada, first met his wife at a tennis tournament when she was a 15-year-old ball girl.

In 2004, they were rocked by false accusations that Rusedski had taken banned substances.
