Ancic dumped out of fourth round

Feliciano Lopez’s Wimbledon charge continued today with a straight sets win over 10th seed Mario Ancic to move into the quarter-finals.

Lopez, previous conqueror of Marat Safin, leapt upon Ancic’s misfiring serve to breeze past last year’s surprise semi-finalist 6-4 6-4 6-2.

While Ancic crumbled, 26th seed Lopez kept his own graceful game impressively intact to reach the last eight of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career.
