Henman happy with form

Tim Henman is hopeful of booking a place in the last eight of the Hamburg Masters Series against Argentinian Juan Ignacio Chela today.

The fifth seed and British number one overcame rain and wind to beat compatriot Greg Rusedski 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 in an intriguing encounter yesterday.

Henman, 30, will now look to improve on a 4-2 career record against 25-year-old Chela, who he has beaten in straight sets the last three times they have met.

“If I can stay in a positive frame of mind I think I’ve got a good chance,” Henman told his personal website, www.timhenman.org.

“My game tends to match up well against his, and I’ve played well the last couple of times I’ve come up against him.

“Obviously, the conditions here suit him more than they do me, but I know what I need to do in order to stand a good chance of beating him.”
