Top seed and defending champion Lleyton Hewitt has moved a step closer to becoming the first player since John Bromwich in 1940 to win the Medibank International in Sydney four times.
Hewitt crushed Slovakian Karol Beck 6-1 6-2 as he continued his build-up to the 2005 Australian Open.
