McCann finishes 15th in tough time trial event

Ireland's David McCann powered around a tough 46.75km time-trial course in a time of 1:14:94 to finish 15th in the world championship event at Bardolino, Italy today.

The event was won by Australian Michael Rogers.

31-year-old McCann from Belfast did an impressive ride but was disappointed having missed out on a top 10 place by only 16 seconds.

Mayo’s David O’Loughlin finished in 38th place.

Both riders will be taking place in Sunday’s Elite road race in Verona.
