Irish athlete injured in Greek accident
Irish walker Jamie Costin looks set to miss out on taking part in the Olympics after he was injured in a road accident.
The West Waterford 50km walker, was travelling in a car that careered head-on into a lorry near his training camp at Porto Heli, 400 miles from Athens.
He was hospitalised after the accident. He is thought to have fractured his lower back and broken a toe, according to preliminary hospital tests.
Costin is due to compete in 10 days' time.
