Ferrero battles through

Juan Carlos Ferrero today reached his first Australian Open semi-final with a hard-fought victory over Morocco’s Hicham Arazi.

The Spaniard, seeded third in Melbourne, raced through the opening set in just 24 minutes but found Arazi a stubborn opponent and required two tie-breaks to eventually seal the win.
