Rain has delayed the start of the second week at the US Open.

Two hours after play was due to start at Flushing Meadows it was still raining and no matches had got underway - and the forecast was not encouraging.

Among the scheduled feature matches are top seed Andre Agassi against Taylor Dent, Australian Lleyton Hewitt against Paradorn Srichaphan and French Open winner Justine Henin-Hardenne against Dinara Safina
