Kim Clijsters beat Tatiana Poutchek 6-2 6-1 to progress to the fourth round of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

The in-form Belgian struggled to overcome her Belorussian opponent at last year's French Open.

But this time she dominated from the start, and admitted later: "It was a lot better than at the French," referring to the first-round 3-6 6-3 8-6 win at Roland Garros.

"I was really ready for revenge. I know I wasn't playing my best tennis at the French and she's a girl who gets a lot of balls back, she runs really well.

"I felt I had to keep the pressure on her and try not to let her get into the match like I did at the French."
