Kournikova ends losing Grand Slam streak

Anna Kournikova's grand slam jinx ended at the Australian Open when she won a singles match at one of tennis' premier tournaments for the first time since January 2001.

The Russian put her injury agony of 2001 and form slump of 2002 behind her by beating Slovakian Henrieta Nagyova 6-1 6-2 in the first round.
