McEnroe stays in the hunt

John McEnroe kept himself in the Honda Challenge by defeating Swede Mikael Pernfors 6-1 6-0 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

McEnroe, who suffered a rare and humiliating defeat to Henri Leconte on day one, must also win tonight’s final match of the round robin stage against German Michael Stich to have a chance of making the semi-finals.
