Agassi hopes dashed

Andre Agassi's hopes of pipping Lleyton Hewitt as the year end number one were finally dashed when he double-faulted on match point against Juan Carlos Ferrero at the Masters Cup in Shanghai.

The Spaniard won 7-5 2-6 7-6 (8/6), condemning Agassi to a second successive defeat in as many days.
