Switzerland's Rubens Bertogliati has won his first Tour stage in sensational style.

Switzerland's Rubens Bertogliati has won his first Tour stage in sensational style.

Bertogliati attacked as the riders went under the 1km to go banner. His surge caught all the sprinters' teams off guard and he held on for stage victory.

Not only did Rubens win the stage, but his efforts in the prologue (where he finished the stage in 19th place, 17 places behind Armstrong) have been enough to see he takes the overall lead in the Tour de France.
