Capriati moves through to next round
Jennifer Capriati has beaten Slovakian Janette Husarova 6-1 6-4 at Wimbledon.
Jennifer Capriati will have to work on her serve if she is to upset the dominance of the Williams sisters and win the Wimbledon title.
Capriati was broken three times on her way to a 6-1 6-4 victory over Slovakian world number 41 Janette Husarova.
The 26-year-old American, beaten in last year’s semi-finals by Justine Henin, breezed through the first set and dropped only one game on her own serve.
But double faults littered her game as she was broken to 15 in the second game of the second set and, after breaking immediately back, again for 3-1.
Capriati’s game finally clicked into gear as she wrapped up the match in style and kept alive her quest for a title in one of the two Grand Slams she has never won.
