Albert Costa, the 20th seed, won his all-Spanish clash against 18th seeded Alex Corretja to advance to the first Grand Slam final of his career to date.

The 26-year-old Costa finished up 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 winner and will meet either Juan Carlos Ferrero, the 11th seed, or second seeded Russian Marat Safin in Sunday's final.
