Jelena Dokic defeated Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario in straight sets to win the Toyota Princess Cup.

Tied 2-2 in opening set, the third seeded Yugoslavian broke service in the fifth game and never looked back on her way to a 6-4 6-2 victory over fifth-seeded Sanchez-Vicario.

The 18-year-old Yugoslavian, currently 11th in the WTA rankings, relied on a solid serve and took advantage of unforced errors by Sanchez-Vicario to capture her second career title following her victory at the Italian Open in May.

"It's great to win here, I've had a good week and the Japanese fans were very supportive," said Dokic. "I"m really happy to get my second win of the year."

Dokic raced out to a 3-1 lead in the second set and broke service once again in the seventh game before finishing off the 29-year-old veteran, ranked 29th overall.
