Tennis: Ace Martina seeks £25m for sore feet
Martina Hingis, the world’s number one woman tennis player, is suing the manufacturer of her sports shoes for £25m, claiming they have damaged her feet.
Hingis aims, in an action filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, that Sergio Tacchini shoes ‘‘caused her chronic injury’’ and forced her to withdraw from the Wimbledon doubles tournament in June 1999.
