Last night was an historic evening as it marked the first ever medals awarded for rugby sevens in the Olympics, but it was a little bit more special for one player.
An Olympic Proposal: Brazilian women's rugby player says yes after girlfriend pops the question

Australia claimed gold in the competition, beating New Zealand in the final game - but it was the venue's manager who stole the show.

Marjorie Enya walked onto the pitch as the celebrations eased to ask her girlfriend to marry her.

Isadora Cerullo was part of the Brazil squad at the sevens tournament and was treated to an emotional speech by Enya before being asked the all important question.

Enya told BBC Sport, "As soon as I knew she was in the squad I thought I have to make this special."

"She is the love of my life."

The couple has been together for two years and Enya added, "The Olympic Games can look like closure but for me it's starting a new life with someone."

"I wanted to show people that love wins."

Cerullo's Brazil side finished 9th in the competition, but we reckon she still feels like she won gold. Congratulations to the happy couple.

Love wins.
