Outstanding Lynch goes clear again

SHOWJUMPER Denis Lynch demonstrated again yesterday why he is one of Ireland’s few Olympic medal prospects, producing another jumping clear round with Lantinus on day two of the competition in Hong Kong.

The German-based Tipperary rider repeated his Friday performance, jumping clear with one time fault to leave him in joint fourth place overall. Another reasonable performance in today’s third round should ensure passage to Thursday’s final.

“You’ve got to leave the fences up, if you have a strategy to do that, then time cannot be a factor,” said Lynch.
