Hamilton plays down impressive performance

LEWIS HAMILTON refused to read too much into his third-placed finish during practice ahead of his Formula One debut in the Australian Grand Prix this weekend.

The McLaren rookie produced an impressive display in the second practice session on the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne.

Ferrari led the way as they secured a one-two finish at the end of the second session, Felipe Massa setting the fastest lap time as he clocked one minute 27.353 seconds with team-mate Kimi Raikkonen 0.397 seconds behind.
