Hakkinen to make Formula One return

DOUBLE Formula One world champion Mika Hakkinen is to make a return to the sport by testing for former team McLaren today.

Hakkinen has not driven a Formula One car since the final grand prix of the 2001 season in Japan, but will take part in a day’s testing at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona.

“I’m really excited about driving a McLaren again and to be re-engaging with the team,” said the 38-year-old Finn.
