Alonso confident he can hunt down the hunter

FERNANDO ALONSO is confident of putting “a bad day” at the office behind him and retaining his Formula One world title.

Alonso heads into the final two races of the year — at Suzuka in Japan on Sunday and Interlagos in Brazil on October 22 — as the hunter, rather than the hunted.

Although level on points with Michael Schumacher at the top of the drivers’ standings, the 37-year-old German’s extra race win this season — seven to Alonso’s six — gives him the edge.
