Palace gold for Jones

Olympic 100 metres gold medallist Marion Jones and men’s world 100m champion Kim Collins will compete at the Norwich Union London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace.

Palace gold for Jones

The meeting on July 30, comes just three weeks before the Olympics in Athens, where American Jones and Collins of St Kitts and Nevis will be among the favourites for 100m gold.

Jones, who won at Crystal Palace three times between 2000 and 2002 before taking time off to have a baby, said: “There’s always a world-class field at Crystal Palace and I’ll be looking to gain an advantage by winning so close to Athens. It should be the perfect place in which to fine-tune my form going into the Olympics.”
