NYPD to box in Cork

The biggest amateur boxing tournament to be promoted in this country, outside of the world championships, the world cup and the multi nations, will be staged at the Rochestown Park Hotel on St Patrick’s night next year.

Rylane Boxing Club, who were involved in the Four Nations Championships in Killarney and the Multi-Nations in Cork, will join forces with the Garda to promote the show which is well into the planning stages.

The men behind bringing the NYPD to Ireland are Superintendent Pat Killilea and Detective Sergeant Larry Morrison, a runner-up in the national championships and a former European Police champion.
