Radcliffe at a loss to explain what went wrong

DEVASTATED Paula Radcliffe has apologised to the British nation and pleaded to be given time to decide if she should try to redeem herself.

Less than 24 hours after her world collapsed by an Athens roadside, Radcliffe admitted she had no explanation for the dramatic marathon exit that left her physically shattered and emotionally broken.

Yet even in her suffering, she refused to totally rule out the possibility of competing in Friday’s 10,000m final.
