Devaney secures 11th hour deal

After missing round 1 of the German Formula 3 Series due to budget problems, Irish racer Michael Devaney has secured a late deal which will see him race in next weekend’s Round 2 of the series at Hockenhiem.

He will race for reigning German F3 champions HS Technik, who will supply him with a Dallara chassis powered by Opel-Speiss.

The Dubliner finished fourth overall in last year’s German F3 championship.

The double Motorsport Ireland Young Driver of the Year will have to play catch up to Germany’s Frank Kechele, who now leads the championship after the first round with 18 points.

With a maximum of 192 points still up for grabs in the remaining 8 double-header rounds, the race for the championship is still wide open.
