Loeb dreams of world championship victory

Sebastien Loeb is dreaming of winning the world championship with victory on home soil in this weekend’s Tour de Corse.

Loeb dreams of world championship victory

The Citroen driver needs just five points from the Corsica round, something he has achieved on 12 of 13 rallies this season, to sew up his first world title.

Reigning champion Petter Solberg is the only driver in with a mathematical chance of the title after three consecutive wins but he needs a miracle to retain his crown.

Loeb is keen to take the title in style with a victory, though he insists he will not put the championship in jeopardy by pushing too hard.

The Frenchman said: “I love Corsica. I love the rally; it’s the Rally of France.

“I believe we pleased our many fans on the Monte Carlo and in Germany and I would like to think we could do the same in Corsica.”
