ICAP Maximus looks set for double glory

Tuesday’s leader on handicap, the TP52 Patches owned by Ireland’s Eamon Coneely, which has Shirley Robertson and Ian Walker in the afterguard, had until 0602hrs this morning to cover 160 miles in very light breezes to beat Maximus.

The crew of ICAP Maximus were hopeful yesterday, owner Charles St Clair Brown keeping his fingers crossed for the double - to win both line honours and on IRC handicap.

“That’s what we’re really hoping for now, to be able to beat Patches. She’s got an amazing rating, and we’ve got to give her a lot of time.”
