Dubliner to umpire at Athens

Dubliner Fergus Murphy will pack his bags today as a full-time Associate Tennis Professionals chair umpire to officiate at the Athens games.

Murphy, a native of Chapelizod and a member of the Castleknock club, is a full-time chair umpire and is one of 11 ATP officials to operate worldwide.

“I was studying to be a barrister and just seemed to fall into umpiring in 1995,” said Murphy.
